Homemade Bailey’s Irish Cream

Temp Agencies: The Unemployed Gal/Guy’s Best Friend, right?

I was under the impression that if you went to a temp agency, they interviewed you, and then even if you were mildly qualified, they’d find you a job. I mean, this is what I had seen in the movies…therefore it had to be true, no?

Well, turns out that nowadays if want to go to a temp agency, you have to first submit your resume online. Then, you have to get accepted for an interview. And THEN you have to actually interview. AND THEN FINALLY if the interview goes well they’ll tell you that they’ll contact you later if anything comes up that they think you’d be good for.

Well I went through and survived all of that and have even gone on a few temp jobs so far, and you know, it hasn’t been that bad. In fact, it’s sort of fun going to different offices and getting a variety of job experiences.

There is one catch though: temping is exhausting. Commuting into the city and running around from office to office can be tiring, especially if you’ve been out of the game for awhile like me (or, if you’re not athletic…also like me). That’s why after a long day I’m thankful for this homemade Irish Cream recipe:

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream
1 can sweetened condensed cream (14 oz)
1  cup Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon instant coffee
2 tablespoons chocolate syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

It’s very simple: blend all the ingredients in an electric blender on high for 20-30 seconds until well mixed. Drink and enjoy!
